Dear Perimeter West Eye Care patients,
Due to the high transmission rate of COVID-19, we feel it is our social responsibility to close our office to all NON EMERGENCY patients effective immediately to do our part to help slow the spread of transmission. This decision was not made easily as small business owners, but in the end, we are all in agreement that our ultimate goal is to do our part to keep everyone healthy.
Rest assured, we are still here and available to those that are in need of care. We will be monitoring our phone, email and text messages daily. If you are having symptoms that must be addressed, such as flashes or floaters, loss of vision, eye infection, eye pain, red eyes or need a refill on a medication, do not hesitate to contact us.
Recent reports show the COVID-19 virus has been known to cause conjunctivitis (“red or pink eye”). It has also been proven that transmission of the virus can occur from contact with tears. Though conjunctivitis is an extremely uncommon symptom (<2%) of COVID-19, spring season tends to cause an influx of red eye appointments at our office. Most conjunctivitis is likely due to allergies, bacterial infections or very common viruses, and not COVID-19. As always, hand washing hygiene with contact lens insertion and removal is crucial to lowering your risk. If you are having red eye symptoms, please contact us so that we may address your concerns.
If you have glasses or contact lenses to be picked up at the office, we will be contacting you to schedule a time to retrieve them this week . If you are not well, or prefer we ship them to you, please contact us so that we may make arrangements to do so.
If you need to order contact lenses, please contact our staff. They will be happy to make arrangements for a supply of contact lenses to be shipped to you to hold you over until we resume our regular office schedule.
If your glasses break during this time, please contact us so we can determine the most appropriate action to take.
